What computers (and specs) are you successfully running Fusion 360 on ???

Do you run Linuxcnc on a separate computer ?.............and what is it??

I am running linuxcnc on a laptop and it failed a "latency test" ........... in a big way..........and now have to shop for a different computer.

Some advice tells me not to run Linxucnc and Fusion on the same computer. What is your experience.

My recommendation for running LinuxCNC is to look into the MESA ethernet cards, like the 7i76e. You pay for the card but the software is free. Its controlled over ethernet and the PC latency doesn't matter nearly as much as the step timing is all done a the card, not the PC.
And Fusion 360 - I run it on a different PC(s), send the post processed G code to the cloud (google drive) and download it to the machine running LinuxCNC. Starting to worry about how much longer Autodesk is going to let us use it for free (at the now reduced 3 axis mode), but I'll enjoy it while I can.

Are you still looking into this or are you already up and running?

Yes I would try using separate PC as you will be busy to get one running, while trying to seek information on the second one.
I just got some 2nd hand ones tried them and took the one that looked best. ( one was total fail ) Computing power does not matter, can be really old.

Built in parallel port is not a must, it can be added with a cheap PCI or PCI express card.

My recommendation for running LinuxCNC is to look into the MESA ethernet cards, like the 7i76e.

I should have done this much faster as it solved several issues when the system got more complex.

Hi i run several different 3 D programs, on a Laptop, I never have my computer on the Net, yes i may miss out on updates, but it does not bother me , my programe are pretty update , So never conect your computer to the NET, Then nobody can interfere with you.

You need a high performance computer with a gaming type video card to run Fusion 360. I use a Dell G5. My old laptop's video card was way too slow even though the processor was fine. To run Fusion 360 under Linux see Fusion 360 on Linux: How to Install It | All3DP

I run F360 quite happily on my ancient machine that has a Core i5-4460 processor, NVIDIA Geforce GT 705 graphics., and 12GB memory. Native Win10.
