If you scale down a motor to half size then the volume is 1/8th (to the cube) but things like injectors and throttle bodies need to be sized (to the square) to suit the flow.
Example a half size Ø40 throttle body does not scale down to Ø20 but rather Ø14.1 (square root of (40x40)÷(2^3)
The square root of the original diameter squared ÷ scale cubed
Ditto for injectors.
