These aren't my own findings, but I picked them up from another site.

If anyone is getting like me, or maybe not, it can sometimes be a bit of a bind finding all the old formulas for things I want to do, like working out diameters and depth of cuts for when making gears.

Well both these programs will easily sort you out in that department, and most others as well.

I find the first one is the easiest to use, but the second has a lot more in it, so I have both installed on my computer.

Tin,

If you run the file that you downloaded, it should automatically put it in a folder on your drive C.

When you first run it to unpack it, it should tell you where it will be, you can install somewhere different if you want to, just change the address in the installation window.

Once it is installed, go to the folder it is in and run the file 'ModelEngineersUtilities.exe', that will start the program up. I just made a shortcut for that file and dropped it onto my desktop and renamed it to what I wanted to call it, so it was handy to get to.

As I said, I found the first one was easier to use anyway.

On the second link, if you have Windows 7 you may have to save the file to the disk first then right click and "Run as administrator". I had to do that or the file would fail to extract. You have to love windows 7 security.

Thanks John, I hadn't seen that first program. It looks quite useful.
