Hello,
I have a camshaft / crankshaft grinder for sale with accessories such as aluminum oxide grinding wheels as well as CBN grinding wheels.

My crankshaft grinder has been described in some detail and is depicted in a couple of threads such as the thread "Cam grinder on the go - post #4" and the "Another cam grinder - post #31" thread and I suggest, if you are interested, to check these threads out for more information.

The offered cam / crankshaft grinder consists of three seperate components:

1 - The base unit with the cam drive and cam follower with the swing frame and slider on which the adjustable tail stock center point rides. The whole assembly is mounted on a 3/4 inch thick blanch ground cast aluminum plate. It allows the grinding of parts with a diameter of up to 2 1/2 inch and cams and cranks of up to 8 1/2 inch in length.

1 - A removable tool post grinder with interchangeable base to mount onto the cam grinder base cross table or to the cross slide of a lathe. The drive unit of the tool post grinder is a Sherline industrial spindle with a dia. 1/2 inch hardened spindle (Ground in place for zero run out) combined with a Sherline DC speed controller allowing the grinder to operate in a speed range of 500 to 10,000 RPM.

3 - A set of grinding wheels for use with the tool post grinder and the cam grinder allowing the grinding of camshafts as well as crankshafts with a throw of up to 1/2 inch using the dia. 6 inch CBN wheel.

The set of grinding wheels consist of nine Norton Aluminum Oxide wheels of dia. 5 inch X 1/4 inch with a fixed dia. 1/2 inch bore.

CBN (Electroplated) wheels:
One dia. 6 inch X 1/4 inch wide face with 1/16 corner radius, 1/2 inch bushed bore for adaptation to other bore sizes with a hub thickness of 5/16 inch.
One dia. 5 inch X 1/4 inch wide face with sharp corner - no radius, 1/2 inch bushed bore for adaptation to other bore sizes with a hub thickness of 5/16 inch.
One dia. 5 inch X 1/4 inch wide face with 1/16 corner radius, 1/2 inch bushed bore for adaptation to other bore sizes with a hub thickness of 5/16 inch.
One dia. 5 inch X 1/8 inch wide face with sharp corner - no radius, 1/2 inch bushed bore for adaptation to other bore sizes with a hub thickness of 5/16 inch.
One dia. 5 inch X 1/8 inch wide face with 1/16 radius, 1/2 inch bushed bore for adaptation to other bore sizes with a hub thickness of 5/16 inch.

I am asking the following for the three individual components:

Item 1 camshaft / crankshaft base unit - $ 550.00
Item 2 Tool post grinder - $ 450.00
Item 3 set of the various grinding wheels, lot - $ 280.00

I am willing to sell each item individually at the stated individual price or all items as one lot for $ 1,280.00.
In the case of the grinding wheels, I am offering the Norton dia. 5 inch wheels for $ 15.00 / each and the CBN wheels at $ 60.00 for the dia. 6 inch CBN wheel and at $ 50.00 for the dia. 5 inch CBN wheels. Please note: The CBN wheels show no wear and can be re-cycled and CBN electroplated when worn.

The attached pictures show the various mentioned items in some more detail and provide a bit more clarity and information about the described items.
The weight of the complete camshaft / crankshaft grinder with the tool post grinder installed on the cross slide is approximately 120 lbs. The foot print / envelope of the unit is 18 inch wide by 26 inch long by 14 inch high.

Please PM if interested. Thanks.

Peter J.

Did you find a home for this? I am building the Challenger V8 and this would be nice to have.

Hello Greg,
I have one gentleman who has the first right of refusal at this point. If he declines, you will be next in line if you decide to go for it. I will let you know for sure.

Hi l was wondering if you have a build thread or going to start one for the challenger, I have the same castings and would like to see a thread on the build

Sorry for being off the topic of this thread

Michael

Hi Micheal
I plan on posting the progress when I get my phone camera back. I have pictures on it but right now can not get them off of it. Have you started your engine? I am getting close to completing the block and will be working on the cylinder sleeves soon.
