hi all
just got a bargain when down ot the scrap yard and found a peice of brass 2 1/2 dia by 8 inches long cost all of $2 au
dont know what im going to use it for yet lots of flywheels :)

so it shows just being in the right spot at the right time does pay
going back later in the week to have another look
it was hailing the size of marble so grabed and run

Nice catch Wayne - I rarely make a trip to town without chercking out the scrappy.

I never find myself nice bits of brass.
 
I nabbed 3 sheets of 1/4" brass at work. They were about 18" x 24" and had smaller rectangular cutouts in the center. They were used in an auditorium to mount floor boxes to house microphone jacks on the stage. When we did an update to the auditorium we replaced them with some modern boxes with lids. I asked what they were going to do with them and they said "in the trash". So I brought them home. Already made a couple of connecting rods and other bits. Should last quite a long time. What's trash to one is treasure to another.
