Hi all,

I am looking into purchasing the shaper in pictures below.
I checked internet but cannot identify and get some specs.
The machine is stored and i will inspect next week but like to know in advance what i am looking at.
Can you help pls. and identify and possibly email or show me where i can find some info.
I also got my hands on a small horizontal mill i am going to collect tomorrow, the shaper will complete my workshop tools.

Thanks in advance.

Danny

Danny first of all thank you for the interests in this forum. We really like it when folks take a few minutes and post an introduction in the welcome sub fora and tell us a bit about 1) themselves 2 there home shop 3 there interest in model engine building and last but not least location.
Having a little idea of who you are and your location and perspective helps us help you.

back to the shaper. My casual knowledge of the Cincinnati shapers is they were built as industrial machines and tend to be large. 16" to 36 " work capacity stroke seems to be typical. also as an industrial machine like is three phase so you would need a vfd to power it in a home shop a couple hundred bucks for power conversion.
Type Cincinnati shaper on U tube and see some videos.

Here is a link to some manuals for this could differ from the one you are looking at but a good start. [url]http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=2218&tab=3

The operations manual looks generic and seems to cover all sizes.
Good luck with your purchase

Tin,

Thanks for reply. I will work something up in the welcome forum next week.
I am a bit puzzled because the cincinatty shapers are indeed much bigger and this is just a medium size as far as i can see from the pictures. Maybe a 12 inch stroke bit larger than an atlas.
Its a bit the size of a medium Hembrug shaper if i compare.

I got a huge case of "wanna have in the shed asap" so i guess i have to be patient till i can see it and determine if usefull for me.
Was just hoping for a "quick fix" of info to satisfy the greed. We all know that feeling.

Regards, danny
