Thanks again folks...yes...my father laughed when I told him the light blew out as soon as I turned it on....so did the electricians at work.

I always like to try and do things myself but at least I know when to step aside and let the pro's go to work.

Take care.

i'm pretty knowledgeable with electricity, that said i'll be damned if i can get anything done in reasonable time. an electrician i am not. you might be able to also use a stepdown transformer. maybe a used "auto transformer" can be found on ebay. but let the electrician install it. there are atleast 3 ways you could go with to get 110v let the electrician decide which is best, i'm not sure what's the cheapest way for you, that partly depends on how far the shed is from the main breaker and where the wires go.

Thank goodness for the electricians at work...one shop instructor quickly asked me if my Phase converter is for starting 3 phase or running 3 phase. Come to find out the phase converter I purchased is for starting 3 phase motors only...not for continuously running them.

Lucky for me I have not run the engine longer than 30 seconds.

Hi Stan....yes it is returnable.

The shop instructor worked as an industrial electrician for 20-plus years and assured me that converting it from a starting phase converter to a continuous running converter is something he has done many times.

He actually has a write up (assignment) for his Seniors to do it.

He mentioned something about compacitors...I'm confident the converter is in good hands.

I am just very surprised that this information was not spelled out on the website for the phase converter.

Someday I'll be able to use the mill!
