Last weekend was a holiday weekend with Memorial Day.
Being as I am, I put off everything I needed to have done until the last day.
Then nature stepped in.
Sunday afternoon warnings of severe weather started popping up on the computers.
A few minutes later the EMS scanner, television and radio echoed the warnings.
Nasty 5 minute storm blasted through.
We lost power immediately and could see the cause of it from our front porch.
That fire line tape has us land locked.
Phone lines and cable lines are still on those poles but all three of the power lines are down.
22 hours later, a crew called in from the neighboring state of Ohio showed up to repair the damage.
I'm not complaining about the time frame!
The damage was wide spread here and there were more important places that need the power to
be restored. Most of the stuff that was leaking out of my freezer should have been thrown before
then anyway.
Monday I was driving through town and saw a utility crew working on a telephone pole that had been
broken in half. How can a sever storm do that?
OK, now it makes scene.
You don't realize how much you depend on electricity until you don't have it.
I've been a day behind and am still trying to catch up.
