I went to a garage sale a daughter was cleaning out dads shop. I found these castings in a junk pile. They seam to be nice leaded steel. By the looks of his shop the guy had some serious skills. Does anyone recognize the base. These might be homebuilt. I’m thinking if I knew what the finish engine was supposed to look like I might be able to complete it.

Where was he going with this casting? Tabs are machined and drilled..

Those tabs would be the pivot points for the governor weights.

There are not many hit and miss engines that have the timing gear and shaft on that side where your lugs are on the bed casting so should narrow your search but not one that springs to mind at the moment
