Unfortunately my class got snowed out last week. Most of us had actually arrived before the call was made so we got a chance to discuss the Potty Radial. Tomorrow we meet again and I am confident that will be the project we choose. As soon as we start on it I will start a thread in the group projects section. Thank you very much to everyone who offered help, it was much appreciated!

Nice choice. It will certainly be a challenge! Please do come back with pictures of the completed machine.

Today we voted on the project. The winner is "Radial Five" from "The Shop Wisdom of Rudy Kouhoupt". We took inventory of materals on hand, ordered what was required and cut stock for next Tuesday. I am more than excited to get this project underway. Next week I'll start the group project thread.

`just remember do not cut too much .
sometimes it is easier to hold a big piece to machine a small on . so make sure you plan before cutting.

Oh yes we've already talked about some of the tiny parts. We have some ideas already for fixtures. That will enable us not only to make the small parts but to produce many quickly. I think it will be interesting for some of the folks here to see a model engine "mini mass produced" with mid sized CNC machines.

This will indeed be very interesting! Many of us have not had formal machine shop training so it will be interesting to see how you approach this.
