They are being produced by RDG after they bought most of the spares from Myford after they closed their doors.

I don't think as yet they have actually made any, they are living off their spares base at this time.

BTW, going by the price of the spares, it looks like they won't be any cheaper than Myford were.

Here is what i read on the RDG/Myford site:

Complete Myford Lathes

The Manufacture of the New Myford Lathe

By the end of 2012, due to popular demand, Myford will be manufacturing lathes once again.

All parts will be made in the UK using contemporary manufacturing techniques. As soon as the design has been finalised, specifications of the lathe will be available online.


So by the end of the year they should have a new design lathe built in the UK.
I would agree that the cost would be extortion once again!

Love my little Myford but hate the price of parts...
