this site gets many questions about metal spinning and we have been asked of the value of a wood turning lathe in the workshop.
As some of you may know I kind of got into this hobby through pen turning. Pen turning gave me a reason to purchase tools and gve a finished product to sell ot use for gifts. One vendor I have purchased from and received catalog from for years is penn state. In the recent catalog I am now seeing a full line of metal spinning supplies. there are starter kits . tools aluminnum and pewter disks of asorted sizes blanks to turn mandrels and follow blocks . they have a starter kit and even have a free 25minute DVD. catalog #MSTDVD
see the web site for more info or to requst a free catalog.

They used to have a retail store front in NE Philadelphia for those from the area that may want to stop in.
No affiliation just thinking it may be a good resource for those wanting to explore metal spinning.

there may be better suppliers for these materials so if you have a source please post it.
