I have been lurking for several months and joined last month.
I am old, retired, don't drink, and don't chase women so with the lock down I to do something.
This is my stable and all were built since April of this year. (I need to get a life)




The David Kerzel was the first engine I have ever built and stays some what close to the plans.
Bob Shores Eagle was the next and was highly modified.
The engine in back I call the Royal Blue and was my own design. It has a 1" piston and a 1 1/2" stroke and all three run well.

I can blame my building madness on a member here, Tom 1948.
He brought over a Chinese version of the Kerzel engine to show me and that got me hooked. Thanks Tom!

Looking forward to visiting with other members here.

Welcome From the Land Downunder too.
Seems to me that you have a life making model engines. BUT it just could be that I and many members of this forum are ever so slightly biased. Nice looking models and if anything like the rest of us you get a kick out of them running.

Welcome Ray, looks like you are well qualified to join, nice models. I go to Ocala from time to time when I am in the States, its about a 2-hour drive from my home in Hudson. Haven't met many engine buffs there just loco guys perhaps you can keep me informed if there are any meets or clubs with similar interests to ours. Won't be traveling until this crazy world gets straight again!!

I still can't believe I actually made these myself and do enjoy just going out to the shop and watching them run.
When I started the first one I thought at the very least I would have a static model for show that kind of ran but was pleasently surprised with the results.

Good day Ray and welcome from down under. Great engines there. My friend Gil and I have been working on this freelance early Hit n Miss, no plans just rough drawings, all our own castings, we bought the piston with rings 39mm bought the gears to run the governor, ignition gave us the most trouble. Gils father owned the Hornsby when Gil was a small boy more than 60 years ago. Ted

I'm now working on an Onan twin half scale, it is called a Boxer Engine, start with a box, I wonder if that is where the name comes from. It will power a miniature Railway Inspectors Trolley in 7 and a quarter guage

Thanks Ray for the videos, so great to see them run, ours gave us some grief before we finally got joy. Question how do you post videos? Got a couple of photos of casting patterns almost ready to go. A model train friend gave me a Lifan (Chinese) magnito/charging circuit which is exactly the same as the Onan only much smaller.

I had to keep resizing the videos down until under 8meg to get them to load and then only one video in each post.
I searched around the forum for restrictions or posting rules but i couldn't find where to look.

Generally a video is uploaded to Youtube or some equivalent service, then a link is posted here. My understanding is that this site's servers are not sufficient to hold and deliver a lot of video.
