Can anyone offer help/advice with my next possible project
I was browsing thru Downloads and saw a model by Ken1
Its an inside out radial engine to run on air.It looks very
interesting and i was intriuged and hoped it was within my
capabilities. It was a single drawing which i printed off
but the scale is too small for me to read.As you all know
i struggle with computers. Can anybody advise/suggest the easiest way
for me to obtain working drawings.Regards barry

Barry,
There are several different ways that are easy.
Most PDF readers offer a tiling option on the print menu for printing posters. If yours does not, Acrobat Reader does and it is a free download on the Internet. Just open the document in the PDF reader and then go to print which will probably be under a file menu. Click scaling and set to 100% . Click a tiling option and look at the preview. It will show a number of sheets separated by dotted lines indicating what will be on each sheet. When you click print the printer will print each sheet individually and they will have a small overlap so you can align the sheets and tape them together.

Another easy way is if you have a full service copy shop nearby. Most of them have large format printers and can print PDF files from an SD card. If you can copy the PDF to an SD card they probably can print it on a single sheet of paper for a few dollars.

Now all i have to do is see if i have the necessaries to make the little beast
Tooling,materials and skill Regards Barry
PS anybody out there built one of these

Glad I was able to help, Barry.

As you have probably figured out, you can scale to what ever size you want by setting the percentage in the print window. You might want to scale it down a bit to make a more manageable work shop size. Say to 50 or 60 percent. Also, at least on Acrobat Reader, you can scale you view on screen to just show one part of the print and then just print that view for a working drawing.

There are a lot of little programs to help convert PDFs to make them more friendly for our purposes. One company that I like is:

As I have vision problems that have left me with very little color vision the one I use a lot is their little convertor program that converts all colors to Black and White. Makes the drawing much more friendly for workshop prints for me.

Like many of their programs, they have a free trial version. This one's trial version does not time out, but puts a water mark on the edge of the PDF saying that is is a trial version. But the full registered version is only US$ 27.

Usual disclaimer: No connection, just happy user.

The engine you are looking at is a nice looking engine. Keep posted on progress if you decide to build it.

thanks again Gail,i have been playing about and discovered how to
isolate and enlarge specific areas for printing. All new to me
Will make a start on this engine but not sure if all the materials are readily
available in my neck of the woods. Will start on the easy bits
Regards barry
