I add a temperature gauge to my mini lathe.
The mini use a variable speed motor. On low speed the motor does cool very well . So need watch temperature at low speed heavy cuts.
The max motor is 105°C.
Less the temperature to outside of witch is 15 to 20°C.
I set red mark at 80°C just for a little buffer.
Use HVAC aluminum tape for Capillary blub. The tape is good to over 140°C.
If I have problem with heat I will add a flange mount fan.
Then have temperature gauge incase the cooler fails
