Suggestions for a first IC engine?

Hi, i dont know from where but right now i am building the engine with the same specs. the difference is that i converted it from ohcs to ohv. You can imagine the changes for exmaple new rocker arms, pushrods, crankcase cam followers etc. To be able to machien it i made a new set of plans of the...

Hi, I am alos a beginer and my first engine was the Lynx NE15 designed by Malcolm Stride. As the introduction said its not a very difficult engine to built still a very satisfactory result. Bore to piston clerance

Yes Ken thats a good question, I wanted to leave the clerance between the cylinder because my previous engine i made the cylinder almost a tight fit in which case its wrong while in that moment i tought i was doing a good thing bnecause i was sure that this will give me a good compression. But i...

    Bearing fit problem

I have tought about that and i held the reamer in the collet chuck rather then in the chuck to achieve more centricity. The hole will come bigger by 0.01 to 0.03 which will be the clearnce of the spindle beraings and the collet chuck and without mentioning the ecessive lenght which the reamer is...

    Bore to piston clerance

I have made some reserch about them clearnce; i was going to machien the piston at about 0.05 to 0.08mm less than the bore after finishing the bore as parallel as possible. This will give me a slide a slide through the bore and reduce friction but achieve the seal that i want with the rings. i...

    Bearing fit problem

Another question, I have a situation where i want to fit a needle roller bearing in a crankcase. The bearing diameter is 8mm but as you know this has to be a press fit hole say like a diameter of 7.98 or so. But the problem is that the hole is located in the crankcase at about 40mm deep from...
