Hi all,

In my previous post of a "Workshop for sale" i mentioned i picked up some goodies.
This casting was a freeby!!!
The owner does not remember where he got it or what it is.

All i know is it is a two cylinder of sorts.
There are no markings anywhere on the casting.

Any ideas???
Feel free to ask for it if you can complete the project!

Hello:

Could it be a Stuart Turner Sirius? I understand they used them in WW2 for powering radios in the field.

Regards,
Mike

hi i don't think its a steam engine not with them ports in the cylinders bin so far dawn

Looks like an air compresser pump casting >but has no cooling fins. So anyones guess .Now you can dream of what to make from it. Dale

I'd nearly bet it is either Stuart, or Stuart inspired - not the Sirius, but possibly his smaller brother - the 'Sun' although, looking at those exhaust ports, a uniflow version of same. It could, also be a compressor, but I have a feeling not.

Seriously tho' - that rather crude column sticking up between its 'eyes' is the guide for a geared drive for the valve gear.

LMAO!!!!

It looks like another one for the shelf...
Unless it inspires someone!

Not my pic, but for comparison the Sun, on the left, and the Sirius. both of these have the gear drive arrangement on one end, which inclines me to the 'clone' theory.
