Well I'm still lurking but have not built much worth of documenting on the site although I have built a 400kV Van De Graaf generator if anyone's interested - I just didn't think it appropriate to this site.

I'm building a Tesla coil at the moment.

In the real world I just completed a rebuild of a client's 72kW 200kHz induction hardener - the damn thing went into 100Mhz parasitic oscillation (valve max.) - who needs a Tesla coil - this thing put on quite a fireworks display - not to mention extremely dangerous.

At such power and voltage, one mistake will probably be your last.

I love tesla coils. My first one was from a kit. It didnt produce much spark, but I got to see the effects it had on CFL's and other fluorescent bulbs. I have plans to make another one, but currently other things require my attention.

I would love to see a Tesla Coil. I've always wanted to build one.

I remember as a kid coming in the house and taking my wool hat off and placing it next to my fluorescent desk light. Pretty much hooked me on science.
