One thought, but ball races have plenty of slop in them unless they're preloaded, so in all honesty unless we're chasing (unnessessary) micron precision, I wouldn't worry.

Yep ... will be as soon as I get over this cold. I now have had 3 colds in 2 months. Each time I thought I was over it and would start doing small things to get back in shape then bang another one starts, don't know where they are coming from. Sure knocks me out.

Pat, take care of that cold, If I can make you feel any better
I spent $5000.00 dollars getting a complete AC system installed
4 years ago. The dam compressor died Saturday night:eek:
6weeks to get a new one, temp are at 42 with humidex:fan:
good thing the one in the garage is running fine:D

Path--I agree with Luc. That's too many colds in a short time span to just be a cold. Look after yourself--we only get to go through one time on this life!!!---Brian

42 in Alabama weather is absolutely freezing, we buy all the bread and milk and don't leave the house for a few days!

Wow! 107! No wonder all the geese stayed down here! It's July and we still have most of your geese down here. Usually don't see them after April/May. They'r beautiful creatures unless you sleep late. Honk! Honk! Honk! We're right in a migration path and certain times of the year it's nothing to go outside and see in the neighborhood of 40 to 60 of them. Saw 10 or 12 this morning.

I wish you would keep ALL of our geese down there. They infest all our waterfront beaches, and man, those things crap like a dog!! Real nice stuff to step in in bare feet!!!

Hi Dave, Glad to see you are building one too, nice bit of machining too!!!

Andrew

Rivergypsy--This is just a drop in to say Hi and offer up a word of encouragement. I am currently "breaking new ground" with my CDI ignition that I have purchased. ( I don't believe that my engine requires a CDI to run it, but I have always wanted to try one.) Cheers mate, keep up the good work. I will probably repeat this message to all the others who are building the Rupnow engine.---Brian

RiverGypsy--I know you are up to your neck in another project (which is looking fabulous by the way!!!) I was wondering if you have had a chance to do anymore on the Rupnow Engine, or has it been set aside until you are finished with your current project.---Brian

Brian, I have to apologise, but I've got projects piling around my ears, and steam is my true love, so I don't think I'll finish this in the near future. So, if anybody fancies a free start to Brian's lovely engine, please do let me know. Again, sorry Brian. Dave

Well Dave, Your heart was in the right place. I could see by the lovely work you are currently doing on the Entablature engine that you might never get to the Rupnow Engine. Well, at any rate, thank you for thinking kindly enough of the engine to have made a start on it.----Brian
