I was making coffee this morning in my 40 year old GE percolator and it occurred to me that I was the only one I know that still uses one.Every one else I know has a drip pot. Any one else use one?

For the ten years that I was on my sailboat (10 months per year) coffee was perked on the stove. There were two bent stainless arms that clamped to a rail around the stove that gripped the pot to keep it on the stove and a ten cup thermos to keep it in when it was done. The best coffee in the world.
Now my coffee comes out of some hi-tech machine. Its not the same.

I have a stovetop percolator for camping, but that's about it anymore. I don't think many below the age of 30 would even know what one was for. Just another datapoint in old fogeyism.
