Yikes, spinal surgery! I hope everything went as well as it could and that you're up and around as soon as possible. Listen to your Physical Terrorist (did I get the spelling right?) but don't overdo things. Your model will wait. Those of us that have been following along will just have to wait, too!

BTW, I really have been enjoying your postings. Your photographs are sharp, well-lit and uncluttered and support the text well; very well done.

No apology required Sarah, healing is number one.
I have a history of back fractures, (motorcycle & ladder fall) and feel your pain. Really.
The #5 will be there when you are ready.
All the best, T

Depending on the magnitude of the surgery and your age (I'm 65) recovery may not take too long, but getting back to feeling good most days and being ready to go do stuff can take a lot longer. It was three months after they opened up four vertebra and cleaned up 5 discs before I was OK to bend or twist (with care, not too much), six month before lifting over 20 to 30 pounds was not something to do with care. Upside is I could walk through a grocery store without having to lay on the darn cart like a lazy slob within a month or so. A year later and I was up to doing most everything, but the year of mostly down time before getting the surgery plus the recovery time resulted in a lot of lost strength and stamina. That is still being worked on, but week by week it gets a bit better. Take care, don't push too hard until the surgeons tell you you're as healed as you need to be. If they tell you to walk, do it. In my case it wasn't always fun, but acetaminophen taken an hour before heading out sure made it easier and got me feeling much closer to being a functional human fairly quickly. 14 months post surgery and I'm feeling pretty good most days, have the usual geezer aches and pains but not the crippling pain of a hosed spine.
