One of the most often read statements on the board is "I've just added that to my list of "To do" Projects. I'm wondering how many of us actually have made that list. Here's your chance.... What on your list?

Mine....subject to re-jiggered scheduling:

#1- Side Rod Steam Engine (Brunell type)
#2- Liney 5 Cylinder Radial (a hybrid design)
#3- Liney 4 cylinder opposing (a hybrid design)
#4- 4 poppet valve steam engine
#5- 8 poppet valve in line compound steam engine
#6- Cathedral style beam engine (gothic style supports)
#7- Hypocycloidal steam engine (internal ring gear type)
#8- Hit and Miss IC engine

Add in a re-visitation of the Infamous Elbow Engine, suddenly important tool projects and the odd "gotta have it" machine mods and I'll probably still be well behind the eight ball when St. Peter greets me..... with clear directions for far more southern climes.

Your turn.....
Steve

I don't currently have a list of specific engines to build, but there are certain types of engines that I would like to have a go at. In no particular order;
Elmer's Tiny (currently in progress)
a swashplate engine
a multi-cylinder I.C. engine
an aircraft-type radial engine
a stirling engine
a flame licker
a finger engine
run something on live steam

My list of model engineering related projects are currently focused on metal finishing;
Anodizing
more parkerizing
engine turning/jewelling
finish off my indexing table
ball turning tool

My list of non model engineering projects includes;
a set of built-in bookshelves (major priority according to the future SWMBO)
a number of knives (I have the stuff on the way for my first)
a rifle (Realistically this will probably never happen, as I don't fancy the thought of going to jail.)
a chess board and possibly the pieces

There's lots more ideas floating around in my head, but these are the major ones at the moment. I can see this thread is going to triple the length of my list.

Bob's Wish List

1. Finish my 3cc and see it run
2. Make a boiler for my mill engine and run it on steam.
3. Make a beam engine.
4. Make a hit and Miss Engine.
5. Design and make another diesel using lessons learned in 1 and ideas picked up in the forum.
6. Re-design my grinder stand to make better use of the grinding jig.
7. Make some more change wheels for my lathe 47t 37t 33t 39t.
8. Live long enough to complete 1-7 ::)

No particular order except 1 must be first and 8 must be last ;D

Best Regards
Bob

My engine list is short, but for good reason... It is a lofty and aggressive plan.

Currently underway:
Crusader .60 - two-stroke glow ignition single

Next up:
LME-370 Pip - four-stroke glow ignition three cylinder radial

The remaining line up:
Ageless 9 cylinder radial - four stroke spark ignition nine cylinder radial This will be a long term build, so other simpler engines will likely be build along side it
Brian's Double Scale Beam Engine
Snow - four stroke spark ignition four cylinder tandem
A hit & miss of some design (looking at Phil Duclos Odds & Ends)

My tooling list:

Universal Pillar Tool
English Wheel
Surface Grinder

That's all I can think of right now with my tired noodle!

Tooling list:

1. Ball Turner
2. QCTP
3. Backplate for the lathe
4. CNC the mill

Engines

1. Liney Boxer and Halo
2. Elmers Radial
3. TestTube engine
4. Brians Beam engine
5. Some sorta IC engine for a RC plane
6. A wind ball ;D
7 a 3inch boiler

Eric

Right now it's a real short list:

I just want to finish my parts for Team Build 2.

Then I'll think about what I can make from all the buggered parts I have.
And of course there is the ever growing list of tools to make.

I'm like you Kev

i wish a engine was in the top 3 things

Filing machine is a must ( working on it now )

my new auto saw is great but it needs a table and stand

then i gotta make some tools ( got the HSS today where i met up with tel)

THEN! i should be able to chop in to a engine proper

but i may leave my casting kits for ron ( later on)
and do a small scratch build with a wheel coming from thinwater
and the plans from the download section

cheers

jack
