Great website and great people! I'm getting back into machining after a very long hiatus (25 years) and just want to do it as a hobby. Going to start with steam engines to get my feet wet. Ultimately I would like to make my own castings and make a running version of the 1/6 McCormick Deering model by Ertl. Has anyone done this? They also made a John Deere model E. I know their models are well done to scale. I have the Mac Deering and will start measuring and making patterns one of these days....

I have never done it but I have no doubt it can be done if you are willing to put in the effort.
