Chuck,

You are close. I read a book titled “Masters of Deception” which has a large section of MC Escher, Dali and some lesser known (to me) artists who do this kind of stuff. What amazes me is that they are trying to create what appears possible at first glance but cannot exist. Kind of the opposite of what most of us are trying to accomplish. Anyway Roger Shepard gets the credit for this one.

Somehow, that boiler reminds me of a very rare bird that my father told me about when I was a child. They were very rare, because when agitated they would fly in ever decreasing circles, untill they flew up their own butt and disappeared---

Yep it was called the Oozlum bird - Only after it disappeared up the proverbial it commenced to sling oozlum, (fancy name for it), at its' enemies.
