Beautiful. I recently completed one, and then converted it to Hit and miss.
I guess I should start a new thread if anyone is interested. It did get warm/hot without
water cooling . now with hit and miss, cool. I was given the challenge to make it
hit and miss AND governed. The mechanics are there but the carb I built doesn't
have the throttle fuel/air range. Maybe later.

I would love to see your engine. This was my first build and I learned a llt but nowhere near enough to contemplate your modifications. Mine runs fast and slowing it down would be a great success.
I actually have another identical casting kit, J bought them with the intention of building 2 at once and selling 1 at the end but when I looked at the drawings and castings I realised I might jjst end up with 2 failures.
I have video of mine but am not savvy enough to get it to upload. I have it posted on my Facebook page somewhere but others can find my content easier than I can!

Did you manage to build the head and valveseats/guides to drawing spec? I had a world of trouble stopping leaks. The valve seats themselves were spot on but I found the guide/seat seal to the head itself wouldnt stop compression from simply bypassing the valve seat going round it rather than through it.
I would like to see how others have parted from drawing spec and made it work more dependably.
I made my exhaust valve as a cage . My castings were made by my friend Dwight Giles
and were porous. I didn't press it in and had leakage between the seat and exhaust port.
Locktite to the rescue. A lot of run time and no problems. Some pictures of it
and the hit and miss governor are here

The fuel tank is Aluminium.
The round section is the bottom of an old fire extinguisher screw cut with a very fine thread into the upright which was a piece of billet from my offcuts that was probably from someone elses bin.
