Meeting a fellow HMEM member

Today was my last day in Istanbul, Turkey, and I had arranged to me Erdem, who goes by the nick 'esteam' on the forum. I took the ferry across the Bosporus as instructed, and Erdem was there to meet me. Thanks to him, I had a guided car tour of the Asian side of Istanbul, a great breakfast, a tour of his shop and neighborhood, and a visit to a local mosque for Friday prayers.

Erdem is something of a local celebrity as a comedy radio host here in Instanbul. The fellow at whose apartment I was staying is a big fan of his.

I'm jealous. Turkey is one of those places on my list I want to see before I die, very near the top. Man, lots of history there.
