Making the HMEM "EZ" Engine Double Acting

I realize that the HMEM EZ engine was made to be as easy as possible to make, But recently double acting engines have caught my interest. I was wondering if its possible to make the engine double acting and how to do it. I have a vague idea as to how, but the physics in my head dont necessarily match up to real life.

I know I will have to seal the Cylinders. Im actually in the process of building one, but progress has been paused for the time being (I haven't put up a work thread).
