Log In Twice Issue

Most of you know that you have to log in twice to access the forum.
It's a software issue with phpBB when you go to their support area all
you get are a lot of people complaining about their members having to
log on twice. :?

I will tell you this. When I set this forum up I expected maybe 20 people
to notice and respond. The interest and speed of the growth has
surprised me to say the least. If it continues to grow and the interest
shows true staying power I will buy a domain where we will have more
control over the software issues. I've already discussed with the wife,
and I'll do it anyway...

But seriously, I apologize for the double typing.
It's YOUR forum. Show us what it can be, and we will make it the
best place to be.

I have to log in several times also. I have to submit a post 2-6 Times also. It is worth it to have this site. If you have to buy a program lets us know and I will send money. Let me know your home address.

Count me in Rick. I'm sure we all can chip in a few bucks to help keep this great site up and running. With a membership growing daily it shouldn't be a burden for anyone. Just the information and knowlege sharing has a great value to me. Let us know what you need.

Yeah I noticed that. My posts appear on the first try but I did have to log in twice. It's not much of a problem for me, I can deal.

I have not had any problems in a while.

Lets see how things go and maybe after the first of the year we can make a suggestion thread then poll on a domain name, get a solid cheap host and I have the forum software all figured out so all the members could attach files and even host thier pictures on an on site photo gallery.

Im a code monkey who has no problem working on the server side of any software. I do tech work for a few sites.

I have a tons of ideas for making the forum way better then the typical site. Just wait and see.

Exploring the 'Log In Twice Issue', I have noticed two things:

1. If you log in on the homepage, and log in twice as required, you have no unread posts when you ask for them from the menu.

2. If you are not logged in, and are in a message, and click 'Post Reply', you only have to log in ONCE.
And then when you go to 'Unread Posts', it works.

Oh! One other thing . . . an onboard SPELL CHECK would be great.

I have looked into the spell check thing.
Personally I have to keep Microsoft Word open to paste my posts into for
corrections or none of you would ever be able to decipher them. :?
We don't have that capability at this time, but the way things are
progressing, we may very soon.

On the Log In issue: We've found that if you log in by clicking
"Log in to check your private messages" you only need to do it once.
Again, if we continue to grow at the current rate, we will be in a position
to gain more control over the software.
