I had seen several engines running on vapor in the past so I had to try one for myself.
The ford engine seemed like the likely candidate as every thing is out in the open and easy to get to.
I removed the fuel line and plugged it. I opened the throttle full open on the carb so there was a straight shot through it and gave the flywheel a few spins. I was afraid that the fuel air mixture would be too lean for the engine to run but it was just the opposite. The mixture was way too rich and would flood the engine immediately. I then made a slit in the plastic line and got some action but there was no way to fine adjust the mixture. I then put a tee in the line going to the carb and blocked off some of the opening. It was still too rich so I removed the blockage and just left tee open.
This is what I got.

This was just an experiment and I will be putting the fuel system back like I originally had it.

Thanks for looking
Ray
