I am brand new to this world of machining, & have many questions. I just picked up a Grizzly h8101 Stirling engine kit. There are two parts (bent connector rod & bent drive rod) that need to be offset. How do I accurately achieve this?

If the offset is 2mm,you get 2 bits of 2 thk flat .Tape to the shaft opp sides in correct location, say 5mm apart, grip in the vise and close up.There are many variations on the basic principle.I used it many times in a press on sheetmetal
to toggle for say a piano hinge or box lid fitting. Its easy, try it with a piece of
scrap first. Regards Barry

Let me know how you go.The offset 2mm is important, but the length of the offset isnt.Dont try to get it too short.Increase the 5mm length to say 10mm
