After seeing this forum several weeks ago, I knew I would eventually register as I found it very interesting and informative.
I belong to another forum and see some of the members also belong to HMEM and knowing the caliber of those members, I know I will learn plenty here.

My background is carpentry followed by 30 years of dentistry and other than making dental castings and jewelry to help pay for dental school-metal machining is totally new to me.

Interest started with my passion for live steam stationary models and with old german machines that I collect, they are always missing some fitting or part and would like to get them whole again.

Have a Unimat 1000 given to me recently and hope that will be enough to get these parts made. Fortunatly I have a brother who is a denal technician with casting equipment so I can get fairly good start with the "bits"

I just hope I don't ask to many stupid questions :-[

Welcome to HEME bigal2749

You will find there are no "stupid questions" asked here.

Getting hurt or damaging a machine for fear of asking a question
is where stupid kicks in.

We have a good group here that is dedicated to the safe and rewarding
continuation our hobby.

Welcome once again!

Rick
