first engine help?

Hi I have a mini mill x2 and a lathe and was wondering what is a good first engine to buiuld, looking for a like a simple gas engine might try steam but not really interested in the simple air or steam pistons/engines.

Bad news Richard. The simple gasoline engine does not exist. I actually wanted to design a simple gasoline engine but learned that no matter how they get designed there are some parts that will require some higher than beginner skills. If you are just starting out give a simple wobble type engine a go and see how it goes. If you have been working with the mill and lathe for a while and your skill level is good then maybe a single cylinder IC wouldn't be too tough.

The i.c. engine that everyone seems to start with (me included) is the Webster. It is a simple and good running engine and the plans are a free download from the internet. If you have trouble finding the plans contact me. Here is a link to my build on the forum.---Brian
