Thanks guys. I like the idea of using a digital calipre. They can be picked up for around £10.00. I'm sure I could make it fit. First job though is to get a DRO for the lontitudinal slide. It's usable as it is but it's a bit awkward to read the small digits. As soon as I get that sorted I'll definately have a go at the quill and post some pics. Perhaps if I'm really good Santa will be doubly generous.
