I'm sure that the 'Brooks' will perform well. I've got a fabricated Stent also gathering dirt and rust!
For our American cousins, Martin Models? still has some Mark 2 Quorn castings left and with the availability of construction details and plans etc( albeit about £60) it should be possible convert /machine the castings to the new Mark 3 a lot easier than what I'm doing. There is a LOT more dividing and graduating but the results look immeasurably better.
Back to the 6x4 bandsaw, I've done little alteration on mine but would mention that blades can be bought 'over the counter' from ToolStation.
Dare I divert from this and that exhaustive diatribe about that milk-shaker thing? It was an old Waltham watch which certainly hadn't been used since 1938- and possibly earlier. Not only did I have it cleaned and adjusted after all those years but got an expert valuation. WOW!
So I'm wearing it on the waistcoat of one of my morning suits.
So art from a huge dentist's bill and - the taxman and my adviser, the week has gone surprisingly well.
So back to doing fiddly repairs( and rust removal!!!) on my long discarded Quorn.
I do look forward to the outcome on the nice little Brooks
Cheers
