Hi Brock
couple of points that you will need to consider:
- this unit is identical to the Titan model sold in Australia, so you will not have a serious problem with parts;
- how are you clearing the unit through customs. This is a very important issue since the combined costs charged by Australian Customs, clearing charges and a host of other add-on costs will add around 60% to your base price. If you are clearing it in person be prepared to spend a full day dealing with the process plus you will still have to pay the charges.
- regrettably I have to say that I have the identical machine with the Titan label. Have not been satisfied with it from the day of delivery and came close to returning it to Titan for a total refund (did not do so due to the fact that the CS3 SIEG was not available at that time.) When compared to my Proxxon machines and the SIEG SX3 mill the lathe is inferior in very way.
on delivery from Titan I noted 27 faults, some of which were quite serious, taking many days to correct. In addition there was serious damage to the sheet metal work as a result of the machine coming adrift inside the packing case.
I recommend that you keep a complete photographic record of the status of the crate, machine etc as you unpack it.
I sincerely hope that you will not experience the same problems as I did on deliver
sorry to pour cold water on your acquisition.
have fun
Bernard
