Crank material

I’m well into the build of my FarmBoy hit’n miss engine and is about to do the crank. The plans cals for tool steel solid made. I was hoping to make it with silver steel (tool steel) rod and webs of bar stock. I can’t easily get the materials, so I’m wondering if cold rolled steel for the webs will be strong enough. I also wanted to make tight fit and pinning. Know it’s fine for a steam engine, but what about this IC engine you think?

I have 24 engines all with cold rolled steel crank webs. It works fine for that application.---Brian
