The shaft is what im working getting replaced. Anyone know where I can get one?
i have been looking on there i was hoping of a website or something with a better deal. I want to upgrade but i got this for 60 bucks and its small and i dont have much space at this time. My friend was trying to turn down some metal that smoked a few tips its as light as aluminum but heard as steal. He said he got it from a friend that builds stuff for oil rigs.Craftsman 109 lathe 3/4-16 spindle ebay $ range from 60 to 'you gotta be kidding'
Having bent a few of those spindles (you can't be aggressive with the 109) it's time to get an upgrade . .

That's great thanks i'll take a look.hi , there is a website that carries quite a few craftsman parts for the 109 (ereplacementparts.com) , you might find it there .
I don't see me trying that metal. On that note it was a friend that slipped when he was trying to turn it down a bit. Im just glad he didn't get hurt. But step one is getting the part and getting a good set of prints to get it put back together. It sounds like you've got hold of some Titanium there. Your tools will have to be razor sharp and slow your speed right down and plenty of coolant.
