Thanks for your feedback Jim. I bought an S/S CDI kit and am now working out how to fit it. On the original Nemett engine the timing disk for the Hall effect sensor was located on a rear extension of the camshaft. However, in Greg's interpretation of the design, the timing disk is located between the front of the cambox and the camshaft pulley. Working out how to mount a sensor to read the disk in this location is a bit of a challenge as space is very tight. These screen shots show 3 options I am considering.

I'm not seeing a clear winner yet, so more head scratching will be needed :)
 
Can you recess the pickup into the face of the cam box cover that faces the pulley, so it's less obtrusive? Otherwise, version 3 seems like the easiest to install and adjust, but can you put the magnet in the pulley and skip the extra disk? You'll want to be able to move the pickup while the engine is running to set the spark advance.
