I went to check out a new source of materials at a scrapyard run by a man on his property. I spotted a Butler shaper standing out on its own there. It's way to big for me, but I thought someone else might be able to use it. It's in pretty poor condition, and is mostly seized, but most of the parts appear to be there. It weighs over 4 1/2 tons, so you'd need a truck to transport it. The man running the place reckons it's worth at least about $1200. I know it's not my machine, but I wanted to try and stop a good machine going to waste. Anyway, here are some specifications:
Up to 660mm/26" stroke
1220mm/48" horizontal travel
1100mm/40" vertical travel
533x520mm/21"x20" table
457mm/18" wide mount for cutter
10HP 3 phase motor
Power feed on horizontal axis
