This one took about 6 months to complete. Made all the hardware out of 3/16 SS hex stock. Re-engineered the pump piston to have a sliding check valve instead of the tapered piston in the drawing. This is its second run on Christmas Day 2021.

Only bothersome thing with this build was making the link from the crank pin to the walking beam. I had to offset the shank to one side to get it to fit correctly. I think this was because of how I positioned the flywheel support on the base to make things “look” right and have the bolts centered on the foot of the flywheel support.

Setup for machining the mating surfaces on flywheel support to ensure they‘re parallel to crank axis. The casting is shimmed to get best fit before boring for the crankshaft bearing.

Hello, here is the one I made in 2019, the casting is from Myers engine, 1/8 scale.
Not too difficulties to make it work, no substantial modifications, apart from some modification of machining dimensions to adapt to the foundry (not always very precise). I put 1 vitton seal at the bottom of the cylinder to avoid water leaks, a pump with a cylindrical piston and a gas heater, the most complicated was to manufacture and adjust the burner.

i have built 1/10th(.800), 1", 2" and 3" Ericsson models, the 3 larger from Meyers kits.
the key for all hot air models is close fits with no friction. i hone and polish the bore and then fit the pistons with .0005 clearance and no rings.
i used a Farmall A tractor wet sleeve for the 3", turned down to .100 wall.
the blue one is the 1/10th and the red is 3"

Some beautiful work displayed here.
I am just embarking on making my own in 1/8th scale.
Castings are not available here in the UK so far as I can see so I am doing my own.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Some fine additional models on this thread. Well done gents. I used my friends Sunnen hone to get the bore dead true then sized the piston for a half mil clearance. Still, it took several sea trials to get running decently.
