    I would try open mold with pattern placed grooves down if possible, shrinkage will be limited by the large area at the top now, can even pour more material that way.

    Thank you Barry Will E mail Reeves and do what it takes to get the drawings. I already in posession of all castings and 60% completed boiler with most fittings, wheels, well machined eccentrics, completed firebox etc. Was a good swap for a Myford ML7 Kind regards Mike.:)

    Lathe accident, Tool organizer, bad idea.

    A m6 tap went into my upper left arm after dropping it on a spinning chuck since then, i made myself a rack behind me which can be hoisted up to the roof and out the way when finished.:o (machines has no brain, use your own!)

    Take more time, save more and buy a used brand name, Colchester, DSG, Bridgeport, Heron, Tos, Southbend,Weiler, Schaublin etc etc. Worth rebuilding too if need be
