    Non-staining way oil?

    I use ISO VG 68 Zinc Free Hydraulic Oil, I also use this oil in the Headstock and Gear box, my lathe is a Myford. this oil does not stain and keeps the slidways nice and clean, I'm in the UK but there will be equivalent oils in the USA. Mike.

    You could try retarding the ignition a little which may assist the slow running, but as a hit and miss engine has no throttle control it will only slow down when the exhaust is latched out I would move the fuel tank a bit closer to the fuel mixer, a shorter fuel supply line may help with the...

    Jim, If your engine is starting and running with the aid of the drill, it could be that the flywheels are not heavy enough to keep the engine turning over on it's own, adding a bit of weight to the flywheel rims in some way might be worth a try. Mike.

    Hi. Not a stupid question, yes it can be a MS bar turned down to a fit, or as I did I used a 5/8" dia bar with two 1 1/2" dia disc's Loctited onto the bar then turned to fit the liner. Mike.

    Hi. For my Wyvern I bored out the cylinder liner mounted in a four jaw chuck, I then made a mandrel to fit the cylinder bore (a good friction fit) and finished the outside diameter and the liner lip with the mandrel mounted between centres. Mike.

    You say "Lots of leakage on Cylinders" cure that problem and try the engine again, if the cylinders are leaking badly then they are acting as a safety valve which is no good at all.

    Brian. The two holes in the bottom of the column, the Right Hand hole is drilled through into the hole at the bottom of the column, the Left Hand hole is a blind hole a 1/16" deep and a groove from that hole down to the bottom of the column. Mike
