    Grizzly $25 DRO Query

One of the first ones I got had some issues powering up right out of the box. I found if I pinched the case together it worked. In taking it apart I found that the electronics were in two parts and just used pressure to make the connection. I put some tape behind the circuit board to create some...

    Grizzly $25 DRO Query

I am willing to be wrong here (and have been before). But also willing to take a chance at this low price. First of all these scales are NOT the same ones that were available several years ago. The electronics are remotely located and not subject to particles and fluid. Second; I have put swarf...

    Grizzly $25 DRO Query

Interesting that they kept denying that they were going to add these products any time soon. Still, happy to have them at good prices. However I already bought mine from elsewhere since I didn't know how long (if ever) it was going to be. BTW the 6" is on sale for $22.95!! Hard to beat that. Thm:

    Grizzly Tent Sale

We spent 4 days in MO. Looked all over for you but to no avail. But then again I didn't go in any of those male dancer places either!! :big:

    Grizzly Tent Sale

I was in Springfield MO last Thursday but did not stop at Grizzly. Had the wife out for a weekend trip to a Bed and Breakfast. Figured taking her on a tour of the Grizzly warehouse was not a great idea. ;) If any of you do make it for the tent sale be sure to stop and eat at Lambert's just...

    Left Handed X2???

Very cool! Always like to see thinking out of the box and not being stopped by the "obvious". Well done.

    Dang it!! Wasted my time!

I took machine shop classes to learn to operate basic equipment and then spent a lot of time here and with a machinist friend of mine learning the tips and tricks of experienced machinists. Then went out and bought my own equipment to further learn and practice the craft only to find out I could...

    Steam Ship Arabia

We are in Kansas City and today visited the museum of the Steam Ship Arabia. Short version of the story: It sank, the river changed its channel and in the 80's 5 guys found it 45 ft deep in a corn field and salvaged 200 tons of cargo that sank with it. They have it on display at the museum...

    Grizzly $25 DRO Query

Yep. Found no problem with cutting the bar. It appears to be a continuous strip of material. I cut it on the band saw with a fine tooth and then touched it up with a disc sander. If it is too long you can always leave the end hanging out past the mount, if you have room. Considering the price...

Looking good. How did you grind the 60 degree tool to cut the grooves in the hob?

    Will winter never end?

I'd be happy to trade with you. This afternoon we got hit with several tornadoes, one of which damaged a bunch of homes and businesses. Could have been worse. It just cleared the main part of the metro area when it touched down. Winter is sounding pretty good right now and spring time sux. It...

    Another Webster

Dean; my videos are NOT evil, they are just accurate. :big: Did not get the depthing tool completed. My ESC ran out. (Earned Shop Credits). However I did make some good progress. Recently I was at the metal store and I always browse the end cut section because they sell by the pound just...

    Another Webster

Got distracted by the air spring and DRO additions to the mill. Now back to work. Really itching to get the 48 tooth gear done so I set up the RT and went after it. Turned out well. Teeth look good and the mesh with the 24 tooth looks about right. Even if it is not perfect it is close enough...

    Grizzly $25 DRO Query

Trout; Yes the air spring was from LMS. Very reasonable price. Has all the hardware AND it has the longer gear rack to extend the Z axis included. Easy to install with just 3 holes to tap. Highly recommend this one. I am not sure this type of DRO has an absolute zero as part of the bar. These...

    Grizzly $25 DRO Query

Got my DROs extended. Put the air spring on the mill and then cut the DRO to fit. Now have about 10" of Z axis travel and a DRO to match it. Took a length of the remaining material and cut a section to fit the X axis. So I now have DRO for the full travel of the X axis. Y axis was already...

How to power a small steam engine for testing?

Not to muddy up the waters too much. :hDe: It is very helpful to have some sort of pressure regulator for testing so you can run at any speed and determine how much pressure the engine needs to run. Needing a lot of pressure can mean a timing, friction, or leak issue. You can get in line...

    solenoid engine plans and schematic?

Generatorgus; Those little engines (motors) have there own kind of cool. Nice looking and interesting. Looks like you did a nice job on their looks and finish. Forget that they are not machined. They are very clever. Thm:
