Punch instead of drill? Would leave a cleaner edge, whatever method you try with drilling will risk grabbing and having to start over.

May want to check local codes: in many locales you need to use non combustible materials in a garage unless it’s detached or there is a common firewall with a residence. Probably won’t get in difficulty now, but possibly when you try to sell.

If you find that the fan is not necessary, all is not lost: you can use the fan when using regular spray paint.

Have to agree that while some fiddling & cleaning can be expected, the item should not require machining to be able to be used. Vevor needs to take it back.

Looks like it got passed inspection. Doesn’t look like it is a problem, but I would return if the mixer was expensive (or if not too costly, get a partial refund).
