Wood stove for cast iron?

Most wood stoves are not made with high quality steel except for the top lid which usually has some type of cooking surface on it.. A rotating flywheel is subject to lots of radial stress however if the rpm is low it might work and if the casting is good. Susggest you hunt for something better
 
as HMEL said is probably not top quality material.

however, it should work fine. unless we're talking about a full size engine or something like that.

consider that the cost of material always ends up being a very small part of the total invested. especially when you have to do extra machining because the shape is off.

you can buy A-36 steel plate very cheaply. if it needs to be cast iron look for break discs or drums.
