Well there has been several threads on using viton O-rings for piston rings and I'm about to have a go.
The big question is "where do I get FPM Viton 1 1/8" ID x 1 1/4" OD x 1/16" CS in Australia ?.)
have tried locally only able to get 1/8" CS.
I'm just a learner here so apologies if a simple request.

Ludowici seals or James Walker seals should stock them

Never been to Australia so I can only give general advice.

1. If you can find a shop specializing in supplies or repairs to the hydraulics industry you may be able to get what you need there. The hydraulics world uses a wide array of O-rings, many of them the thinner cross sections.

2. Knowing the industry standard number, 024 in this case, makes searching a bit easier. For example searching for "O-ring, size 024" will bring up many links in the USA. This is a very common O-RIng size so finding a supplier shuldn't be that hard.

3. When all else fails redesign for the O-rings you can get.
