Tilting mill's head

I've always wandered what was the use of tilting the head of my F45 mill, since there would be no space to work but the second picture on this page game me some ideas. http://www.maquelec.net/archivos/SX3.htm

I've done a lot of tilted head work with Bridgeport mills, and several times in the past few years I've used my Sherline the same way.... most recently as a lathe.

In that picture your refer to, you see a small 'table' for holding work when using the machine as a horizontal mill. If you decide you need one, grizzly sells them as an accessory (part #H8179)
