I don't think there would be a lot of difference for the home shop, but I do notice Shars have a range of sets and each one goes up in price depending on the accuracy of the blocks.

I bought a metric set off ebay going back a while for $120 posted and they are as good as any Mitutoyo etc measuring gear I have here.
They also have the same set in imperial for the same price.

Unless you're working in a metrology lab you won't be able to tell the difference. We're talking microns here.
