Hi Guys,
No machining for about a month now, I thought I needed a rest. We go to Durban quite often and this time went down the South Coast as far as Port Edward.
One of the beaches has a little known magical thing going on. In a garden area, wooded with old indigenous coastal salt trees is a small mosaic circle set in the ground. If you stand in the centre of the circle and talk loudly, the speaker hears a reverberant echo in his head but all who hear him hear no echo. How’s that for strange?
I bought a nice looking MT2 Live Centre in Durbs for not so many thin ZARs and will give it a spin if I ever get out of holiday mode.

:hDe: Ya gotta watch the guy with voices in 'is 'ead! :hDe:

I hear them all the time and nobody's noticed me yet

Mine have been absent most of the day - I think she's helping Mrs Next Door do something.

Whenever people give me a strange look, I say "Do the voices in my head bother you ?" - works every time.

I guess there is a good reason why the resonant circle is not well known and we should probably keep it that way.

Yes, probably - unless you like a bunch of maddened druids, armed with disemboweling knives, hot on your heels! :hDe:

No prob, Ken, I have a crabby old carapace. Anyway this place does exist. Like an elliptical room where 2 people at the foci can hear each other whispering, this place focuses sound in a narrow direction back to the speaker. One hears oneself speaking as if through a reverb spring. Whether it’s electronic or an echo or some springyness in the ground it’s so neat. The effect is very directional though.
