I saw an example of a coke can stirling engine. I thought it would be a cool easy project. I have built two and can not get them to run. Any tips or pointers?

The 1st things to look for are too much friction or binding and air leaks. It must be sealed well but must run free.

Stirling engines can be difficult to get running. The cylinder/piston fit is a balancing act between as little friction as possible yet a good seal. All other moving parts must have as little friction as possible. For lubrication of joints I have found it better to use powdered graphite. Don't use regular oil as it creates to much drag. Starrett makes an oil for their instruments that has a very low viscosity that I have used.

Hi,

Some pictures would tell us more...
